The Visual Arts program at Star of the Sea offers students the opportunity to participate in a range of stimulating and engaging activities; exploring ideas and finding solutions through the art and design processes.

Their arts experience complements all areas of the school curriculum, providing opportunities to develop creative problem solving strategies, fostering open and lateral thinking.

Our program includes the ‘fine arts’ of drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and photography, as well as the ‘design disciplines’ of textile design and communication design, building and refining skills, allowing students to express their ideas with confidence.

Excursions to public and private galleries expose students to the work of historical and contemporary artists and designers.

Individual and collaborative art making is displayed around the College throughout the year, allowing students to share their efforts and see their talents celebrated by the school community.

A highlight on the calendar is the vibrant annual art and design exhibition that showcases the breadth of creative experiences, from the enthusiasm of the youngest of our students to the sophistication of the senior students.
