Specially-tailored programs begin well before a student arrives at Star:
All students undertake a literacy and numeracy test on a Saturday morning in October. This data, together with information from your daughter's primary school, assists us in forming our homeroom groups so that the learning potential for all students is maximised.
An information evening is held each October for parents.
Students attend a full day of orientation in early December.
All of our Year 7 students are involved in the comprehensive Transition Program that provides a firm foundation for secondary education.
Your daughter's homeroom teacher plays a critical role in the transition form primary to secondary school.
In 2017, there will be eight homeroom groups with 25 students in each homeroom. They will be one of the first students to use our newly refurbished East Wing classrooms and learning spaces for Years 7 & 8. These will greatly enhance teaching and learning into the future.
